What Sonimeter is

Sonimeter is a sound level meter app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. It measures environmental noise using your device's built-in microphone.

What Sonimeter is not

Sonimeter is not a Class 1 or Class 2 sound level meter and is not a legally valid measuring instrument in any jurisdiction. Readings are indicative. Do not rely on them for occupational safety compliance, legal proceedings, or medical decisions without independent verification by a calibrated instrument.

Accuracy disclaimer

Sonimeter displays a calibration state and uncertainty estimate (e.g., "Provisional ±4 dB") alongside every reading. The uncertainty depends on your device model, calibration history, and environmental conditions. These estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed.

Sound clips and recording

You are solely responsible for complying with applicable recording laws in your jurisdiction. Sonimeter displays region-specific warnings as a courtesy, but these do not constitute legal advice. Recording conversations without consent may be a criminal offense in your area.

Purchase

Sonimeter Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. It is not a subscription. Payment is processed by Apple through your Apple Account. Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

No warranty

Sonimeter is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of measurements.

Limitation of liability

In no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of Sonimeter, including but not limited to hearing damage, regulatory fines, or legal costs based on readings from this app.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
